A recent PEW Research Center study (April 3, 2020) said that about one-half of the Hispanics in the United States say they, or someone in their household, have lost their job or taken a pay reduction because of the Coronavirus pandemic. This is 16% higher when compared to all U.S. adults and U.S. economic policy makers should be talking about this for immediate attention. The PEW Research Center estimates 8 million Hispanics in the U.S. are in service sector positions.
BOTTOM LINE: Hispanics in the U.S. are at a much higher risk of job loss and, attention to this fact, should be addressed in Washington, D.C.
